Job Position: MEP Quantity Surveyor

– Assist the Commercial Manager with all commercial and contractual aspects of the project.
– Prepare Interim Payment Applications in coordination with the operations team to ensure timely & accurate submissions.
– Finalize payment certificates, ensuring completeness & compliance.
– Prepare Subcontractor Interim Payment Certificates, including compliance checks & invoice monitoring.
– Assess earned value & determine entitlement for Subcontractor interim payments.
– Manage the preparation & finalization of interim & final payment certificates.
– Coordinate the collection of project close-out documentation & negotiate final settlements upon completion of works.
– Evaluate the impact of drawing & specification changes issued by the Engineer.
– Identify potential variations through ongoing review of project correspondence, site issues, & documentation.
– Issue timely Variation Notifications in line with contractual requirements.
– Conduct quantity take-offs from construction drawings for cost planning & control.
– Analyze costs and variations, including measurement verification & application of BQ & new rates.
– Prepare & submit variation claims to maximize commercial returns for the Contractor.
– Negotiate & agree variation values with the Employer’s professional team.
– Determine & agree on Subcontractor variations & ensure proper documentation.
– Provide contractual advice & ensure compliance with FIDIC Conditions of Contract.
– Support the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) and disruption claims by compiling relevant documentation & analysis.
– Participate actively in commercial & project meetings.
– Maintain & streamline all cost & quantity records for efficient project control.
– Assist in the preparation of commercial claims, including EOT & associated cost claims.
– Provide contractual guidance to project teams to ensure compliance with contract terms & conditions, while proactively protecting the company’s commercial & legal interests throughout the project lifecycle.
– Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
– Strong background working with MEP subcontractors, with a high level of experience in MEP systems.
– Proven ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and see tasks through to successful completion.
– Excellent communication skills in English (written & oral) are essential.
– Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.
– Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary, multicultural, and multinational team environment.
– Fully computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, CostX (or similar quantity surveying and estimating software)
