Job Position: IT Technical Support Specialist

– Monitor and respond to technical support requests via ticketing system, email, and phone, and provide first-line technical support to office users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
– Perform regular vessel visits to troubleshoot IT-related issues, conduct system checks, and ensure seamless connectivity.
– Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, networking equipment, and communication devices.
– Document technical issues, solutions, and system configurations for future reference.
– Ensure compliance with GFS IT security policies and data protection regulations and provide training and guidance to end-users on IT systems and best practices.
– Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
– Proven experience in IT support, Willingness to travel for vessel visits, and work in a dynamic environment.
– Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Basic Linux, Mac OS, network troubleshooting, Wi-Fi, VPN, and system configurations for future reference.
– Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Experience working with maritime IT systems and satellite communication (preferred).
– Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), and ITIL Foundation would be an asset (preferred).
