Job Position: Safety Officer
Location: Fujairah, UAE

– Enforce and monitor compliance with UAE labor laws, municipal regulations, and international HSE standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, etc.)
– Assist the HSE Manager in developing, reviewing, and updating safety policies, risk assessments, and safe work method statements (SWMS)
– Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and unsafe practices
– Report, record, and investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and accidents, ensuring timely submission of reports to management
– Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs for site staff, laborers, and subcontractors
– Work closely with the Project Manager and HSE Manager to develop and implement project-specific safety plans
– Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure safe working practices
– Maintain accurate records of inspections, safety meetings, training sessions, and incident investigations
– Ensure that emergency response procedures are established and communicated at the project site
– Conduct drills for fire safety, first aid, and evacuation in coordination with the HSE Manager
– Verify the availability, condition, and accessibility of firefighting and first-aid equipment
– Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports to management
– Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety, preferably within the UAE
– Certification in NEBOSH IGC/OSHA/IOSH or equivalent is mandatory
– Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and international safety standards
– Proficiency in incident reporting, risk assessments, and safety audits
– Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site safety requirements
– Strong leadership and enforcement abilities
– Attention to detail and proactive hazard identification
– Effective trainer and communicator across multicultural workforces
– Commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a zero-incident culture
