Job Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

– Provide technical support to the Resident Engineer (RE), supervising and inspecting all mechanical works during construction
– Conduct detailed reviews of mechanical shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and design proposals, ensuring compliance with contract documents and regulatory standards
– Perform on-site inspections across mechanical systems, including HVAC components (AHUs, chillers, pumps, ductwork, fire protection, plumbing, and drainage, etc.), witnessing tests like pressure testing and commissioning
– Coordinate mechanical works with structural, architectural, and electrical disciplines. Advise on routing and placement to optimize integration
– Participate in weekly MEP progress meetings, as well as QA/QC and HSE meetings
– Schedule and manage snagging/de-snagging inspections, prepare snag lists, and assist with project handover, including verifying as-built drawings and O&M manuals
– Review interim contractor valuations, issue site observation reports and Non-conformance Reports (NCRs), and ensure completeness of technical documentation
– Review contractor valuations, change orders, claims, and provide technical recommendations to MEP Project Managers or Resident Engineer
– Review contractors’ testing, commissioning plans, technical queries (TQs), and ensure final inspections for Mechanical works are certified and approved
– Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
– Minimum of 10 years in MEP experience, preferably in a consultancy environment
– In-depth understanding of HVAC, piping, duct sizing, hydraulic calculations, pump head calculation, load assessments, commissioning, and maintenance processes
– Proven experience working on large-scale projects (residential, commercial, or infrastructure)
– Knowledge of TAQА, ADSSC, ADCD, DOE, AD, M, and relevant UAE codes & standards
– Proficient in AutoCAD, HAP, Revit MEP, MS Office
– Experience in consultancy, site work, and construction administration is highly beneficial
– Strong technical, leadership, coordination, communication skills, and mentoring capabilities
